⚖️ Business Litigation & Business Law Associate Attorney – Jacksonville Office

Mercer Kutch is seeking a talented Florida attorney to join our Jacksonville office as a Business Litigation & Business Law Associate Attorney.

This position is designed for an attorney who wants a broader and more interesting practice than traditional civil litigation alone. The role will include commercial and business litigation, real estate disputes, contract disputes, and collections matters, while also giving the right candidate the opportunity to advise small business owners, entrepreneurs, and closely held companies on practical business and transactional issues.

The ideal candidate is a smart, motivated, detail-oriented attorney with strong writing skills, good judgment, and the ability to communicate clearly with clients. We are especially interested in candidates with approximately 3–7 years of Florida legal experience, strong academic credentials, and a demonstrated ability to take ownership of projects.

What you’ll work on:

• Hearings & trials
• Commercial, business, and civil litigation matters
• Real estate and contract disputes
• Commercial collections and enforcement matters
• Client counseling for small business owners and entrepreneurs
• Drafting and reviewing contracts, agreements, and business documents
• Asset purchase, stock purchase, and small business sale transactions
• Pre-suit strategy, pleadings, discovery, motion practice, mediations, and hearings
• Direct communication with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel

What we’re looking for:

• Licensed Florida attorney in good standing
• Approximately 3–7 years of legal experience preferred
• Civil litigation experience required; business or transactional experience is a plus
• Strong legal writing, analytical, and organizational skills
• Confidence communicating with clients and managing responsibilities
• Professional judgment, attention to detail, and a practical problem-solving mindset
• Strong academic record preferred, including top 30% of law school class or comparable academic achievement
